EMPOWERING PADDLERS TO BE FASTER AND SMARTER ON AND OFF THE WATER
In 2012 she won the V1 Premier Women’s 500m at the Worlds Sprint Championships in Canada, her first GOLD medal at world level. Her team Horouta Kaiarahi Toa women's went on to win GOLD in V6 500m Premier Women's. Over the past 20 years of her paddling career, Vesna has lived and/or travelled to Tahiti, Italy, Rarotonga, Hawaii, New Caledonia, USA, Canada, Australia and NZ to compete on the international stage, returning home with many medals and titles.
The most recent SPRINTS achievement was 2022 World Sprints UK her and her team Kaiarahi Toa, Horouta Waka Hoe got GOLD in all events they made finals in, taking out Masters and Opens V6 500m, V6 TURNS and V12 500m. 5 years ago Vesna started her own part time business as International Paddling Coach to help, share knowledge that has helped her success. Last year she went full time into the business after her second child started school.
Vesna is passionate about helping paddlers to learn the natural way of paddling, develop their skills, capabilities to take them to their next phase in paddling. She works with beginners, novice, competitive and world class paddlers/teams. Vesna's background includes coaching, technique, seat specific, steering, sprints, endurance conditioning, steering, ocean skills, technique, training programmes and mindset. She is also a qualified personal trainer and surf lifeguard (10 years).
When she's not working, she is a mum of two children Rawera (10) and Tepiu (5), trains at the gym, keeps her paddling fitness up. She says she is very grateful to her most amazing supportive partner and best friend John Marks (11 years together). She currently lives in Gisborne, Tairawhiti on the beautiful East Coast of the North Island, Aotearoa (NZ) with her family.
